Sixteen nonprofit organizations in Clackamas County are sharing more than $106,000 in grants from the Oregon Community Foundation.

The Estacada Public Library Foundation and the Clackamas County Department of Human Services are each receiving $30,000. The library grant will go toward construction of a community room when the new Estacada library is built next year. The Human Services grant will help enroll low-income youths in public health care programs.The Oregon Community Foundation also granted $15,000 to Clackamas Women's Services in Milwaukie to support expansion of services at the new women's shelter.

Other grants include Blue Heaven Therapeutic Riding Academy in Eagle Creek, $7,000; Early Music Guild of Oregon, Oregon City, $4,135; Lake Oswego United Methodist Church, $4,000; and West Linn-Wilsonville Music and Arts, $2,500.

The RiverBend Youth Center Inc. Oregon City; the Children's Course, Gladstone; and Three Rivers Land Conservancy, Lake Oswego will each receive $2,000. Other recipients include Lakewood Center for the Arts, Lake Oswego, $1,750; CASA of Clackamas County, Oregon City; and the Girl Scouts-Columbia River Council, Lake Oswego, $1,500 each; and Christie School, at Marylhurst; Clackamas Service Center Inc. in Clackamas; and Sisters of the Holy Names, Marylhurst, $1,000.

The Oregon Community Foundation, a permanent endowment consisting of funds created by donors dedicated to improving the quality of life in their communities, is distributing nearly $7 million to 568 nonprofits across the state this year.

Since its creation in 1974, the foundation has distributed more than $280 million in grants and scholarships to Oregon nonprofits.
